Hello Eurobas! Welcome to the wiki and thanks for taking an interest in Wikia Search! This wiki is used for creating MiniArticles which we hope will provide useful content and context to searchers.
Find out what others are adding on the new pages list.
If you have any questions, please ask on the mailing list or forums.
Wikia is more than a project to develop a search engine. We also have 4000 wikis which you can explore via our hubs. If the topic you're passionate about isn't there, you can request a new wiki.
I'm really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!

[edit] Capitalised terms
Hi Eurobas, I see you have started to write a number of articles with the headword in block caps. While we all realise there are serious problems with capitalisation in Wikia Search, I strongly suggest you either use the texts which already exist for the non-capilised entries (e.g. France, Europe) by copying and pasting them from the edit pages or use a REDIRECT for your all caps. Personally, I prefer to wait until the caps problem is fixed. In any case, as you may know, people doing search almost always use lower case anyway. Have fun!-- Ipigott 14:55, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Sign on talk page
Hi Eurobas, first thanks for your work on Mini-Namespace. I saw your post on Mini_talk:Sex ... Please sign you comments on Talkpages. This is very important, to communicate in a fast and incomplex way. Thx and best regards --Cy 17:42, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Mind map
Hi Eurobas, I've put some comments on your mind map and mindmap mini articles and I have absorbed some of what you wrote into the existing Mind mapping article (with attribution to you). I think we should focus on having one article per topic and do the rest by re-direction. Will you take a look, please? -- VicGee 03:56, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Extension Inputbox
Hi Eurobas, the "fault" with the inputbox on your wiki is that you havent got a mini namespace. Further the inputbox is a extension and no template(in the wikia meaning of it. Wikia templates are written in this way:{{templatename}}). best regards --Cy 19:41, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] your articles
Do you really think it is necessary to have three or four articles of one item. I tried to do something with GAZ DE FRANCE. Do you think that it could be done that the articles Gdf and GDF do not appear in the category Business. ? --Simone 17:53, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] positivismo/pt
Hi at the moment we only support two languages English and French so if you are creating a page in Spanish could you put [[Category:pages in Spanish]] at the bottom thanks --Chip2007 17:11, 19 April 2008 (GMT)
[edit] deletion
positivismo/pt has been deleted if you wish to create this article again please use your userpage

[edit] "This file" templates
Hi Eurobas, Please dont use the "This file" templates in Mini Namespace. I think they should only be in the image namespace and only with a noinclude tag. thx -- Cy 20:04, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vision, mission & values
A precision about my vision is that Web is a copyleft plateform. In french, we say Qui ne dit mot consent ! : What no word can define is accepted as self-evident! --User_talk:Eurobas 06:44, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] "Dual" articles
Hi Eurobas,
you have created these articles:
http://search.wikia.com/wiki/Mini-article , http://search.wikia.com/wiki/Mini-articles and http://search.wikia.com/wiki/Mini:Mini-article .
It appears to me that they all talk about the topic discussed in http://search.wikia.com/wiki/search:Mini_article and should be merged into that article. Do you agree?
--Rainer 01:39, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
i do agree that these articles are similar BUT Wikia must use every spaces for key words. In september 2008, Wikia is hosting 5 millions articles (15M for Wikipedia) and target to have much more than 50 millions articles in 2010. i personaly want wikia users to have many spaces to contribute. After a period of a minimum of 3 months (6-18 months on average), best ideas should be resume into one mini-article. So let us do it and have fun !--User_talk:Eurobas 08:35, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
I do not really understand. What is a "space"? What is "every spaces"? What is a "key word"? Is it an important, a key word, or is it a search term, a "keyword"? "Many spaces to contribute"? 5 milion pages plus all the topics yet unwritten about are a lot of opportunities to contribute already. Surely you do not mean that the 50 million are to be reached by simply replicating pages. So what do you mean? Do you mean that initially, there should be multiple articles on topic XYZ, for examplel XYZ1, XYZ2 and XYZ3, and that these should be merged once they have matured a little? For this to be effective, you would need three times as many editors. When you have an abundance of editors, that may make sense. Judging from Wikipedia, over the period of several months that you mentioned, for most articles you have only a few editors per article. --Rainer 20:27, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
My opinion is that having multiple copies of articles only make them harder to maintain and to improve. Not even more editors would help that. And waiting at least 3 months to make anything "official" will only make most contributions forgotten, when they should be aggregating at least some value to the serch engine. I don't see any benefit in fragmentation. And I agree with that Rainer said about moving this discussion to http://search.wikia.com/wiki/search:Mini_article/Policy_discussion if you really want to insist on this idea. [edit] Your reaction
Hi Eurobas, see my reaction here--Simone 05:28, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- i would also like to take this chance to say, in future, please discuss contentious blocks, and also that year long blocks should only be used as an extreme measure. --Markie (who forgot to sign :(
OK, extreme measure is presently on Wikipedia (where administrators can block your IP without time limitation). You deleted articles linked to Wikipedia without knowing what it was about. You must be aware that Wikia has too much administrators and bureaucrats. THE ONLY TRUE VALUE OF A WIKI ARE CONTRIBUTORS !
For your blocked IP, i do agree that a contentious blocks discussion must be used. But i am not in the habit of that so i let sysops vote. Personally, i would like to let you CONTRIBUTE without deletion rights on wikia. --User_talk:Eurobas 09:14, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Mini:Sanoittaja
Wanted to move in minispace. My move button doensn´t work. What do you think? Could you have on it. I assume it are finnish lyricist or songwriters. --Simone 18:50, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Could we have what on it? Vanilla sauce, any time. ;-) You were not the only one for whom the Move button did not work. Thanks to Balinny, this has been fixed. The mini article already existed, and looked much better (has introductory paragraphs and the names are linked), so I deleted the main space article. --Rainer 07:03, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- @ Rainer or eurobas would you please move article cancer to mini: It doesnt´t work . (Vanilla icecreame would be better!. I forgot to type a look.:(.)
- Moved to Mini:cancer. The move button now works, for me. If, after flushing your cache, moving still does not work (you could test this with Alzheimer, you should report that on the mailing list. --Rainer 09:10, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- @ euroba I wrote on Mini talk:AFORSYS thanks --Simone 09:03, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- May the strenth be with you, i am happy to see that you are working on mini spaces. I understand this wiki is about search. Go on and have fun. ;-)--User_talk:Eurobas 22:49, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
